FAQs

What happens if I have to miss one of the sessions?

The massage routine is repeated at each session, and the folder provided contains all the information on the different moves. If you really feel that you are struggling, it is always possible to add in an extra session if required.

What happens if I need to feed my baby?

The room is set-up to provide comfortable breast-feeding facilities and there is also a place to warm baby bottles.

What happens if my baby is sleeping during the workshop?

You will still be able to follow all the different massage movements and can practise when you get home later.

What happens if my baby cries?

When your baby cries you are welcome to stop the massage to comfort him and join in again at any time. It is not at all disturbing.

How old should my baby be to come to the class?

Massage is a safe thing to do from birth but we would recommend that you come when you feel ready as the first few weeks of having a new baby can be quite demanding! Under the age of 6 weeks babies can get very cold when undressed but as long as the room is very warm it is no problem. Babies loose interest in massage when they start to crawl as they are more interested in exploring and becoming independent. Their interest soon comes back though.

My baby is under 6 weeks, is this too early?

We would recommend that as early as 4 weeks is fine to start for most babies, unless there are any specific health problems or concerns, in which case you might want to wait for the 6 week check-up. Please do call if you have any questions or doubts on this.

Can I bring my partner?

Yes partners are welcome and encouraged to come too.

What shall I bring to the course?

All you need is a change of clothes, nappies and wipes, a changing mat and a large towel. Also a bottle of milk if your baby is bottle-fed.  Massage oil is provided.

Am I able to come with twins?

You are very welcome to come along with twins, and you may want to bring a friend or partner so that both babies can be massaged at the same time.

May I join a course with a special needs baby?

Of course, you are more than welcome. We will work with you to adapt the techniques to your baby’s needs.

What shall I wear?

You should wear loose and comfortable clothing as you will be sat comfortably on the floor. Bear in mind that the room will be very warm so you might want to wear some layers.
